A modern impressionist vision of the Isle of Staffa, Scotland, painted almost entirely in a rich palette of blues. The dramatic basalt columns rise from a restless sea, their geometric forms softened and fragmented by loose, expressive artwork. Deep indigo and cobalt waters surge around the island, catching flashes of pale turquoise and silvery blue where the light breaks through.

Above Staffa, a vast stormy sky dominates the composition, layered with sweeping clouds in navy, slate, and charcoal blue. Occasional streaks of cool white light illuminate the horizon, creating a sense of fleeting brightness beneath the gathering storm. The painting is atmospheric and energetic, balancing the rugged permanence of the island with the movement of wind, waves, and cloud. Bold colour, visible palette knife strokes, and softened forms give the scene a contemporary impressionist character, evoking both the wild beauty and mysterious solitude of the Hebrides

Painted using quality artists paints on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a varnish finish and white square profile wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
Please note the frame may differ slightly to the one shown due to availability.
