‘Spirito’ is part of a series of small paintings with a musical theme, this one obtaining its title from a spirited piece of music. This little painting is made up of many layers using drawing techniques in mixed media and printed collage tissue paper interspersed with semi transparent layers of oils mixed with cold wax medium. The wax mixed with the paint adds extra texture and allows a translucency so that little snippets of previous layers can poke through. The painting comes in a grey-white wooden box frame and is ready to hang.
