The scene for this painting was observed from my window. In spring, birds gather in search of food and often land on the flower box outside. One such sparrow caught my attention. It perched on the edge, on a corner, and slightly turned around. This moment formed the basis of this small composition.
The work is painted in a small format, 20 × 20 cm, on a green imprimatura, using both opaque layers of paint and transparent glazes. The edges of the painting are painted in green.
The surface of the painting has a glossy varnish finish.
This is a directly observed and captured scene. The work conveys a feeling of spring, coziness, and a slight sense of solitude.
