Souffle (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Kseniia Turik

80 x 160 x 3cm (unframed)

£2,774.88

Soufflé came from one of those moments you cannot quite name — the feeling of something rising slowly inside you, weightless, before you have words for it. I wanted to paint that exact sensation. Not the thought itself, but the silence just before it.
I worked in thin layers of acrylic — white, champagne, soft pearl, and faint gold — building the surface gradually until the paint stopped behaving like paint. Then I sealed everything in a smooth lacquer finish. No epoxy resin here. The lacquer keeps the surface quiet and matte, the way fabric absorbs light rather than reflecting it. The texture is tactile and alive: soft ridges and folds that shift between warm champagne and cool pearl depending on where the light is coming from.
This is not a painting that announces itself. It belongs in rooms where people pause — a bedroom, a dressing room, a quiet hallway, a wall opposite a reading chair. Live with it for a week and it starts to behave like a presence in the space, something you keep returning to without knowing why.
Format: 160 × 80 cm, vertical. Acrylic on canvas, finished with lacquer. Signed on the back, stretched on a solid wooden frame, ready to hang.
Soufflé pairs especially well with linen, raw silk, pale wood, and warm neutral palettes. It works in both modern minimalist interiors and softer classical settings — anywhere the atmosphere is built on restraint rather than statement.
