Sólfar (2019) Photograph by Matteo Mezzanotte

60 x 50cm

£405.41

A sculptural silhouette rises between sky and sea, its dark, symmetrical lines echoing the horizon and the stillness of the Icelandic coast. A bird crosses the open sky, introducing a fleeting sense of movement into an otherwise suspended scene. The photograph explores the relationship between human creation and the vastness of nature, where geometry, landscape and solitude meet.

Photographed on 35mm film with a Nikon camera, this image was printed from the original negative using a traditional chemical process in the darkroom, on Ilford photographic paper. The print measures 50 × 60 cm and is available as an original with a white passe-partout.

Materials used:

Photographic Paper, Chemical process, Passepartout
