A solitary tree stands on a green field beneath a vast sky filled with layered clouds in pale pink, lavender, peach, and blue. The brushwork stays soft and blended, giving the horizon a luminous, hazy edge while darker cloud bands cut across the center. The tree, small but anchored, adds a grounded vertical note to the open, spacious composition. This painting is a continuation of my "Above the Horizon" series of paintings that depict the beauty of the ever changing sky. I am particularly interested in the soft colors that intertwine themselves within clouds and create patterns that drift and float and disappear like elusive phantoms.
