Soft Collapse (2026) Original Oil Painting by Anna Schofield

This painting explores the moment where stillness fractures into presence. A cool, atmospheric field opens on the left, while dense, textural eruptions gather and bloom along the right edge. Layers of pigment appear to crack, dissolve, and reform — suggesting matter in transition, beauty under pressure.
The work holds a quiet tension between air and weight, silence and ignition. It feels less like a depiction of flowers and more like an emergence — as if colour itself is pushing through mist, insisting on form.
