Contemporary ceramic sculpture. Finished with coloured slips and glazes. Fired in an electric kiln at 1065°C.

A man standing quietly and looking at a small snail.

There is something about the snail that makes me think of vulnerability and patience. It moves slowly, carries its home on its back and has no way of rushing anywhere.

I wanted the figure to have a feeling of humility too — a grown man bending down to notice something so small.

Handmade in white clay and finished with earthy tones. I have left the texture of the clay visible, keeping the surface simple and natural.
