Small or Far Away? (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Julia Kerrison

50 x 70 x 2cm (unframed) / 50 x 70cm (actual image size)

£950

This painting is my way of capturing the magic and wonder of childhood within the vastness of the natural world. It was inspired by a moment I witnessed of my stepson lost in a world of his own, exploring the tall, golden grasses of a meadow near our home at dusk. A distant mine shaft sits on the horizon, adding another layer to the perspective — a familiar landmark, yet so distant, just like that fleeting state of pure innocence.

This piece, like many in my portfolio, is inspired by my family's wanderings and adventures. My goal is always to evoke the feelings of a captured memory, blending the reality of a place with an emotional, atmospheric narrative. This sunset over the Cornish landscape, with its soft, blending sky of blues, pinks, and yellows, is the
perfect backdrop for exploring that feeling of peace and quiet discovery.

I handle and package all my artwork with the utmost care. Your painting will be carefully wrapped in protective materials and fully tracked and insured to ensure safe arrival. (If you have any questions about framing, hanging, or international shipping, please feel free to send me a
message!)

This is a one-of-a-kind artwork, created and painted by me. I always
sign my work on the back of the painting and initial on the front. You will
also receive a certificate of authenticity on the back of your painting.
