I wanted to portray a quiet stream flowing through a snow-covered forest. By reducing the color palette and allowing the snow, trees, and water to speak for themselves, I sought to express the calm, timeless beauty of winter and invite viewers into a peaceful moment of reflection.
Working with a restrained palette of black, white, and gray, I used expressive, spontaneous brushstrokes to define the trees and stream. Visible paint marks preserve the energy of the process while creating depth and the quiet atmosphere of winter.
