In Silent Resonance, I wanted to capture the feeling of music as presence rather than performance — something quiet, internal, and deeply human. The figure is intentionally faceless and simplified, allowing the emotion of the piece to come through the posture, shape, and relationship between the body and the cello.

I was drawn to the contrast between the warm earthy tones of the instrument and the cool, atmospheric turquoise background. For me, that tension creates a visual rhythm — warmth against stillness, sound against silence. I used gouache on 300g paper to build texture and layered surface marks, giving the painting a tactile, expressive quality that feels both immediate and intimate.

Painted on 300gsm paper using gouache, the matte finish enhances the raw, tactile quality of the composition.
