Silent Guardian is part of my ongoing series Her and the Wild, exploring the quiet connection between a woman and the untamed world.
A woman stands beside a majestic white lion — close, calm and unafraid. There is no struggle for dominance between them. Instead, the painting speaks about trust, protection and the kind of strength that does not need to be demonstrated.
The woman does not try to be strong — she simply possesses that strength within her. The animal beside her does not make her stronger; instead, it reflects the strength that has always existed within her.
The restrained palette of ivory, warm gold, grey and deep charcoal creates an atmosphere somewhere between reality and a dream. Textured layers of paint give the lion and background a tactile presence, while the dark silhouette of the woman creates a strong contrast against his pale form.
For me, the white lion represents an inner guardian — powerful, silent and always present.
Enjoy my art.
