An empty wooden bench faces away from the camera, low in the grass, under a sky turning from amber to grey at the end of the day. I photographed it from the ground, so the bench stands against the horizon the way a figure would, holding the place of everyone who has ever sat there.

The image belongs to my quieter work, photographs about pause rather than spectacle. It asks very little of the viewer: only the same stillness the scene itself held. In a room, it behaves less like a picture and more like a window left open at dusk.

This is a museum-quality giclee print on archival fine art paper, made from the original high-resolution file, signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Each print is produced to exhibition standard and shipped rolled in a protective tube.
