Side by side (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Sophie HORS

100 x 100 x 3cm (unframed) / 100 x 100cm (actual image size)

£1,473.64

This large-scale painting celebrates the interplay of light and shadow. Bathed in the golden light of late afternoon, two women walk side by side along a quiet path. Behind them, their elongated shadows become an essential part of the composition. I worked with a vibrant palette of greens and warm yellows to envelop the scene in luminous light while simplifying and stylizing the shapes of the surrounding vegetation. The clean lines and open space create a sense of serenity and contemplation. This painting is part of an ongoing series exploring pedestrian crossings as places of transition and shared mouvement. The series was exhibited in a luxury hotel in Paris. Through these works I invite the viewer to reflect on the poetry of everyday moments.
