I first got interested in shrines while traveling in Southeast Asia. They could be found along the road or sometimes in inconspicuous places. They would be dedicated to a religious figure (Buddha) or just as a place to offer a prayer. You could also burn incense there. I also noticed them in New Mexico where they are known as descansos and would be dedicated to a passed loved one, religious figure (Virgin of Guadalupe) or even a much loved pet. Meditation Shrine #6 is made of recycled wood and then painted. Size: 19H x 17.5W x 13D inches. Even the brass offering bowl has the patina of age. It is double boxed for shipping. All my work is original and one of a kind. It is part of my Rustic Deco Furniture line.
