“Shining through” is a painting inspired by the deep blue sea. The deeper you go the less light comes through the water. Some shadows and transparencies is all that is left. All the colours are absorbed by the deepness of the sea surrounded by mystery and endless silence.
This painting has many layers of paint, but its surface is very smooth after all this sanding down the paint over and over again. The lower coats of paint, where you can find all kinds of colours hardly appear on its surface. Only when you concentrate on its details, you can still find them. The canvas is stretched over a professional made stretcher of 114 x 146 x 3,5 cm and will be shipped in a cardboard box.
