She Left Before the Rain is part of a small series of watercolor paintings inspired by the time I spent studying in Japan. During that period, I often experienced a deep sense of loneliness. No matter how much I wanted to belong, I felt unable to fully integrate into the society around me. This emotional distance became an important part of the work. Through soft botanical forms, rain-like marks and a quiet palette, the painting reflects on absence, tenderness and the fragile desire to belong.
