Story:
Have you ever felt that we live a strange life? We spend less time in face-to-face conversations or meeting loved ones and friends. Instead, we devote our time to our smartphones. The phone has become our closest companion. It is usually the very first thing we look at in the morning and the absolute last thing we pay attention to before falling asleep at night.

We use it constantly, taking photos multiple times a day. We pick the best selfie, hoping to look like movie stars, and post it everywhere we can. We want everyone to see it—friends, enemies, and strangers alike—hoping they will envy our beauty and superficial perfection. Day by day, we live in greater illusions and increasingly distorted images of ourselves. We stare at our photos instead of truly looking at who we are. To see our true face, our actual SELF. Instead, we only look at the digital reflection, and our real identity remains hidden.

Of course, there are exceptions. Like the young man in the center of this triptych... He did not lose himself. Even though he does not own a cell phone.

As a testament to this contemporary human story, this painting has been selected for the Lunar Codex (Polaris Collection). A copy travels to the Moon in late 2026 aboard NASA CLPS-TO-20A (Griffin Mission One) via SpaceX Falcon Heavy, remaining permanently on the lunar surface as a historic time capsule.
