The Substrate series began almost by accident. I paint flat on a table, protecting the surface with a length of linen or an old curtain. As I work, I wipe excess colour from my brushes onto the fabric—usually in loose, circular motions—building up a constellation of swirling marks over time. A single vertical seam runs from top to bottom, quietly revealing the material’s former life as a curtain and grounding each piece in its humble, domestic origins.
Comes in a quality, black, wooden, floating frame. Ready to hang.
