"Romantic" (2023) Original Oil Painting by Lena Vylusk

The work is an ironic and at the same time poetic interpretation of a classic portrait from the Romantic era. The main character of the canvas is a duck dressed in a lace hat with a pink jar and a miniature cameo around her neck. A vintage herbarium composition is spread around the heroine: dried flowers, violets, anemones and ribbons that flutter as if fixed with pieces of tape on a delicate lilac background, creating the effect of a collage or a herbarium of memory. The pastel lilac-violet range gives the picture dreaminess and lightness. Each detail - from the cameo pendant to the violets and the miniature birdcage - tells its own little story about beauty, naivety and romance. The canvas attracts attention with its originality and evokes a sincere smile. Canvas, oil. Covered with protective varnish and signed on the front and back of the canvas.
