This painting speaks of the strength that lies within us.
After moving to a new home, it soon became clear that I wouldn’t have a suitable place to paint there. There’s just a small cellar room: old, with hardly any light, needed for other things, and certainly not a place where creativity can flourish. Or so one might think. Because things turned out differently. In the midst of the chaos of the renovation and the move, I retreated one day to the quiet cellar room. I hadn’t painted for weeks and had almost feared I’d forgotten how to do it.
This painting proves that I can still do it: during those first many hours, whilst I was completely absorbed in the paint and the canvas, this painting finally took shape: proof that we can preserve our skills and our passion, and that both can come to the fore, even when the circumstances seem to suggest otherwise.
‘Rise’ is the largest work I have painted to date, and I could never have imagined that this would be possible. The result is a richly detailed, powerful, vibrantly coloured and cheerful painting, waiting to continue telling its story in your home.

About me:
I spent my childhood and youth on a farm. It was a picture-perfect life. Endless fields surrounded our family home, with grass so tall that little Jutta was swallowed up by it like an impenetrable jungle. But there was also a lot of work for us three children to do. I loved haymaking: the smell of dried grass, hot summer days, and our father's talent for turning this strenuous work into a game with a competition made it almost fun.

Even throughout my school career, I was repeatedly recognized for my artistic talent.

Everything I do in painting today is characterized by intuition and concentration on the result. When I paint, there is only the now, the present moment. And that can be very challenging. It demands my complete attention; it wants to be well represented. The moment can come easily and be kind to me, but it can also feel difficult and admonishing: Is this really the best you can do? This is the challenge I set myself with every painting: I want to improve from painting to painting, to give the canvas the expression that you, the viewer, deserve.

1. Before you decide on the picture, please feel free to contact me beforehand. I will then check the shipping costs again and can reduce them if possible.

2. Depending on which country you live in, import duties may be levied when purchasing an artwork. These are not included in the item price or shipping costs, but must be paid by the buyer. Please kindly note this.

3. I am offering this painting as a rolled-up canvas. This means that you can have the painting stretched onto a stretcher frame at home by a service provider of your choice.
The main advantage of this approach is that postage is significantly cheaper than if I were to send you the painting ready to hang.
However, if you would much prefer that, because you want to admire the artwork on your wall as soon as it arrives, I am of course happy to offer you this option as well.
