Original artwork description
Remember the last time you felt completely free? Not careful. Not polite. Just alive.
That is the feeling I chased in this piece.
I stopped drawing the nude for a long time. When I came back, the old way of drawing the body bored me. I didn't want to copy it anymore. I wanted to rebuild it. So I let go of "correct" proportions and followed feeling instead.
One arm stretches into a red ribbon over the head. The torso becomes a calm block of sky blue. The face is split between warm coral and pale rose, like a person caught between two moods. Which one is yours?
Lemon yellow, cobalt, vermilion and pink push and pull. Mint dots give your eye room to breathe. This is not anatomy. It is movement, color and energy.
Made with soft oil pastel, layered by hand, so you can see every stroke and the grain of the paper. In morning light the blues glow. In the evening the coral warms up.
Imagine it above your sofa or your desk, the first thing you see with your morning coffee. A bold, joyful reminder to take up space.
There is only one. Once it finds its home, it's gone.
