Depicted mid-motion as if addressing a grand arena, the sweeping silhouette and outstretched arms evoke a powerful sense of theatrical spectacle, authority, and showmanship. This and the other paintings in my circus collection are inspired by my time working for a circus theatre company, which was absolutely magical.
