Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

The tattooed lady, inked carnivorous plants engulfing insects across her body, confident in her own skin.

Inspired by the Italian word “Rinascere” which means to be reborn or to revive, it is the root of the word ‘renaissance’. I identify strongly with its meaning ‘to revive’ in the light of current art trends which have moved away from traditional skills like drawing.

Materials used:

This drawing in Indian ink using a traditional dip pen is on handmade paper, prepared with black and sepia ink washes. It is spray mounted onto mounting (matte) board.
