Original artwork description
The idea for this painting came on my trip to one of the cute little islands of my home country -Estonia. The island is called Kihnu, and it's only 16sq km. It has very own, very authentic atmosphere and distinctive life style. One of the characters that became a prototype is one of the island's inhabitant - an elderly lady named Kihnu Virve (Virve-Elfriide Köster ), who's famous Estonian folk singer. The ferry that takes you to the island from the mainland is called Virve after her.
The dog itself is one of my funny little models, a pet of my relative , who loves to eat probably more than anything else. So the doggo went on a holiday with us and nicely blended in. The cool wallpaper on the background was actually as nice and boldly bright and floral. It was brought by the owner of the place we stayed at from Russia. Other rooms there were just as original.
The artwork is made with acrylic on stretched linen canvas and is ready to hang.
