Rainbow People (Inclusion Gridd) (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Mieke van Os

80 x 180 x 0.7cm (unframed)

£1,283.79

In this unusual, authentic artwork the concept of inclusivity is translated into a strict, systematic color architecture. From top to bottom, both horizontally and vertically, the entire color spectrum is systematically interwoven into the painted figurations. The explosion of colors within the pendant represents intersectionality and the multicolored nature of society. A symbol of the dynamic relationship between the individual and the collective. Each individual forms an indispensable coordinate, essential to representing the colors of the rainbow. A metaphor for an inclusive society and collective connectedness.

The colors are structurally embedded in the architecture of the artwork. The packaging fabric and cardboard foil embrace imperfection and are making the physical creative process an integral part of the aesthetic. Symbolic also: people are made of the same basic, fragile, and unmarked matter.

The artwork elements can be displayed either horizontally or vertically (as a hanger), depending on the space. In the latter case the parts are connected by two ultra-thin copper wires; total hight 180 cm, number of panels: 3.

Materials used:

fabric, cardboard, mdf, bubble wrap, copper wire, oil sticks
