Quintus (2021) Original Acrylic Painting by Michael Rofka

This is another so called colorfield painting which means that the expression of the color itself is important. Here I painted five red squares which become lighter to the center and have soft edges. I used pigments and binder in a lot of layers. So there is a spatial illusion. Sometimes it's like looking into a channel, sometimes it's like looking on a pyramid. But it's also a light, intensive breathing painting with a strong expression and warm atmosphere. The edges are painted. A frame is not necessary. Outside the Euroean Union I must ship it unstretched (but with all the pieces for the stretcher frame)
