- Gastone Cecconello
- All Artworks
- Preghiera circolare
Original artwork description
The hominids that have populated Cecconello's practice for decades change their arrangement and meaning here: no longer locked in serial rows, but placed in a circle, side by side, in a rotation without beginning or end. The archetypal human figure — always identical, always faceless — becomes an element of a secular mandala, a form of collective and anonymous prayer.
Violet in all its shades — from near-white lilac to deep blue-violet — dominates against a sage green ground that brings stillness. The matter is worked with unusual precision: each figure is distinct, almost incised, like beads on a rosary or tesserae in an ancient mosaic.
A quietly powerful work that carries the Ominidi cycle toward a spiritual dimension rare in Cecconello's catalogue.

acrylic, ink

- Acrylic painting on Panel / Board / MDF
- One of a kind artwork
