Original artwork description
In the beginning, I just wanted to paint a tree in a cave, or something inside a cave. The tree came later. Then I considered a regular tree, a tree with mythical crystals, or perhaps some magical orbs or lanterns. My main goal was to show that it is not an ordinary tree that is supposed to be there.
It shouldn’t be there, but somehow it makes sense.
One day, I was reviewing my idea notes and came across my previous writing about “popcorn.” I was inspired by the shape and texture of popcorn under strong sunlight. That’s how the concept came together: a mysterious tree inside a cave, its branches laden with popcorn.
It is exposed to direct sunlight for most of the day, and when heated, the popcorn seed on the branch pops into a large, white, and fluffy popcorn.
Although I tried my best to match the digital image the same as actual painting but the color may vary due to different monitor and monitor settings. Please be aware of this fact.
