I wanted to express the quiet strength held within a horse through an intimate, cropped composition. The lowered head, muscular structure, and tack create a strong vertical rhythm that guides the eye along the form. I deliberately simplified the background, using cool blue-grays against deep browns and warm reds. Bold, economical brushwork and scratched linear marks suggest light, texture, and anatomy, while touches of vivid red provide a visual accent, bringing a sense of restrained energy and living strength to the stillness.
