Life is a game — but who writes the rules, and who decides how we should play?

Across centuries, people have played the same essential games: competition, ambition, strategy, power, risk and desire. The rules may change, the costumes may change, and the arena may look different, but the human nature behind them remains surprisingly familiar.

Chess becomes a metaphor for life itself: every move has consequences, every choice changes the position, and sometimes we are not even sure whether we are making our own moves or simply following a game designed by someone else.

Perhaps the most important move is the moment when we stop playing by inherited rules and choose our own.
