Playing Ball (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Anastasiia Aguf

Playing Ball is a symbolic painting in which Planet Earth appears as a small ball suspended in an immense blue space. Three enormous dolphins surround the planet, seeming to play with it as they move through a mysterious world where ocean and cosmos merge.
The dramatic difference in scale makes the Earth appear unexpectedly small and fragile. The playful movement of the dolphins contrasts with a deeper question at the heart of the work: who is playing, and what is at stake?
Deep ultramarine and cobalt tones, scattered points of light and translucent dolphin forms create a dreamlike cosmic atmosphere. Layers of tempera and acrylic add texture, movement and luminosity.
The painting explores the relationship between life, nature and our planet, inviting the viewer to reflect on the fragility of Earth and its place within a vast and mysterious universe.
