Planet Suite (2025) Original Collage by Dee Evans

My collages are made from acrylic monoprints which I make in batches, and use in conjunction with other materials such as newspaper and magazine cuttings, textile fragments and sometimes materials gathered from my travels, such as menus.

I start by selecting the papers I might use from a vast collection and tear or cut into random or pre-defined shapes and arrange them to form an image. There is much trial and error at this stage and many are unused and retured to the collection. The image is fixed to a mountboard support and in this case has a white border. It is ready to be framed.

‘Planet Suite’ was inspired by the music by Gustav Holst.
