At Gwallyongsa Temple in Changnyeong, the small hall of Yaksajeon peeks out from behind a sprawling, sculptural pine tree, its low branches spreading wide across the foreground like a green sea. The hall's grey-tiled roof curves gracefully upward at each corner, trimmed beneath the eaves with faded dancheong patterns in muted red and blue. Faint traces of painted plum blossoms remain visible on the weathered wall panels between the deep red pillars, hints of decoration softened by age and weather. A stone-paved path leads toward the hall's open side, bordered by a low stone wall and a scattering of pink garden flowers, with the grey-tiled roofline of another temple building visible just beyond.
