Peonies and clover (2023) Original Pastel Drawing by Marina Borisova

This floral painting is a delicate and expressive composition featuring a lush bouquet of large pink peonies surrounded by wild clover and slender green foliage. The soft pink petals of the peonies create the main focus of the composition, while the purple and burgundy clover flowers add contrast, texture, and a natural, meadow-like character.

The cool blue-green background enhances the warmth of the flowers and creates a calm, harmonious atmosphere. Loose, expressive brushstrokes give the painting a sense of movement and spontaneity, capturing the beauty and freshness of flowers in nature.

The combination of soft pastel tones, rich botanical details, and an impressionistic approach creates a romantic and poetic mood. The painting celebrates the delicate beauty of flowers and the natural harmony between cultivated blooms and wild plants.
