Osmosi is a work that stems from the concept of transition: a slow, gradual, almost imperceptible passage, in which matter changes its state and meaning.
Composed of 4,500 tobacco sticks, the work takes shape from waste material. Through recovery and manual reassembly, these fragments are saved from being discarded and transformed into a visual surface capable of creating balance.
The chromatic transition from pink to blue evokes a fluid movement, a transition between two delicate yet distinct polarities. Just as in the process of osmosis, in which an element passes through a membrane and gradually alters the balance between two environments, the work stages a silent transformation: the colour spreads, blends, and changes intensity without sharp breaks, creating a continuous dialogue between the parts.
In "Osmosi", waste becomes a symbol of permeability and rebirth. The material retains the memory of its origin, yet crosses a threshold: it is no longer an end in itself, but a new possibility.
The work reflects on matter’s capacity to shift meaning when placed within a new system. What once belonged to the realm of consumption and negative impact is absorbed into a regenerative process, where every fragment contributes to a broader equilibrium. Osmosi thus becomes an image of a slow yet profound transformation: exhausted matter that transcends its own limits and comes back into being as form, colour and relationship.
