Old World Coffee (2023) Original Oil Painting by Yulia Odukalets

Quiet Bistro Still Life with Coffee Grinder and Jug, Earthy Brown and Neutral Green, Old World Kitchen, large horizontal Still Life

This painting grew out of a moment of recognition rather than a planned concept.
I believe that every idea begins with an insight, even if we don’t immediately understand where it comes from.
Sometimes you simply catch the moment, follow the impulse, and work instinctively. But for me, the most interesting part is finding the reason afterward.

Often, the space itself gives the answer.
Music, fragments of text, familiar sounds — things you may have heard hundreds of times suddenly stop you. You pause. You look closer. And something quietly falls into place.

This still life is about such moments of clarity.
A calm interior, everyday objects, warm earthy tones — all arranged without tension or drama. The coffee grinder, jug, and cup become signs of a lived-in space, a place where time slows and attention settles.
These are not objects of action, but of presence.

Places of Happy People is not about happiness as an emotion, but as a state — grounded, unhurried, and quietly complete. A space that holds memory, routine, and calm, and gently invites the viewer to rest.
