Offshore Breeze is an original semi-abstract seascape inspired by the movement of sailing boats across the bay and the changing atmosphere of the sea.

A warm red sun sits low on the horizon as small sailing boats move through turquoise and deep blue water. Expressive marks and layered colour suggest the movement of wind, waves and reflections, creating a sense of openness and freedom.

I created this painting using acrylic, charcoal and gouache on art paper, allowing spontaneous marks and contrasting colours to build the feeling of a lively breeze moving across the water. Rather than describing every detail literally, I wanted the boats, sea and sky to emerge through colour, texture and suggestion.

The combination of turquoise, blue, red and darker expressive marks gives the painting an atmospheric quality, inviting the viewer to imagine being out on the water and feeling the changing wind.
