Original artwork description
0030 is an original acrylic painting by Alex Kott and an integral part of The Way of Flowers — a long-term conceptual painting project structured around the creation of one thousand works as a single continuous artwork.
Within this project, each painting is not conceived as an autonomous image or a separate series piece, but as a temporal fragment of one ongoing painting, revisited and rearticulated through time. The number 0030 functions as a marker of its place within this developing process rather than as a conventional title.
The familiar flower form is used here not as a botanical or narrative subject, but as a minimal, universally recognisable structure through which colour becomes the primary field of experience. Vivid passages of pink, violet, blue, yellow and red emerge against deep black forms, creating a dynamic tension between luminosity, density, repetition and variation. Visible brushwork preserves the direct, analogue nature of the painting process.
Every work in The Way of Flowers records one distinct chromatic state of the same image. Rather than seeking a final or ideal version, the project embraces recurrence, duration and transformation: each canvas is a factual moment within a larger gesture that continues across years.
The painting was created in September 2026, is signed by the artist, and comes with a certificate confirming its inclusion in The Way of Flowers.
