Ninth Rider (2014) Original Acrylic Painting by Nicholas Robertson
61 x 76 x 0.6cm (unframed) / 61 x 76cm (actual image size)
£1,200
Original artwork description
The work shown is one of a series of nine paintings. Conceptually, the series deals with the consequences of human indifference, nihilism and the triumph of hope. This painting represents resurrection. Dictionary: res·ur·rec·tion (n) the regeneration of something that has died or has been destroyed. Acrylic on superior rolled canvas board, this painting has a base coat of raw sienna and consists of further opaque pigments with subsequent layers of colour washes. This layering of the work gives it texture and controlled vibrance. Finished with a coat of Winsor & Newton Satin UV varnish, this not only protects the painting, but has a unifying effect. A suggested frame width of at least 70mm or more for this size painting. Narrow frames on large paintings have tendency to not sit well and have a habit of warping.
