"Ninfee di luce" brings Antonino Puliafico’s gestural approach to flowers and botanical forms into an original oil painting on canvas. Measuring 130 × 104 cm and dated 2025, the work balances immediate visual impact with close-range surface detail.
Material presence is essential: palette knife and impasto give the work a layered surface in which gesture and colour remain clearly visible.
A luminous pond unfolds in living colour: iris blossoms tilt into shimmering water while knife-laid lily pads scatter like gemstones across violets, turquoises and honeyed whites. Puliafico sculpts paint into relief, letting light catch on ridges so the surface seems to breathe—half landscape, half abstraction.
