When I began this painting, I was thinking about the moment a flower opens — that silent burst of energy when something folded suddenly takes up space. I let the greys spread into wide, feathered wings and concentrated the colour at the heart, where cobalt and turquoise gather like dew turned mineral.
I work in successive layers on textured gesso: fluid inks diluted with water, then acrylic. In this piece the ink ran into fine capillary fringes along the edges, while the denser pigments settled into small crystalline pools — an effect I can guide but never fully control, and that is exactly what I love about it.
Stretched on a solid wooden frame with carefully finished 4 cm (1.5") deep edges — no frame needed. The work arrives ready to hang, signed on the back, with a certificate of authenticity. Packed with maximum protection for safe international shipping.
