Two vast grey lobes open outward like wings caught mid-flight, their feathered edges dissolving into white. Between them, a knot of deep indigo and cobalt ignites — metallic, restless, precise. I wanted to capture that exact threshold where stillness fractures into energy: the calm of the surrounding field makes the explosion at the centre feel inevitable rather than violent. The surface is built in layers — textured gesso, fluid ink drawn with water, then acrylics in varying densities — so the paint itself records every decision, every hesitation.
