Nature 258 — Abstract Violet Bloom (2023) Original Acrylic Painting by Muriel Napoli

This painting began with the sensation of looking into the centre of a flower too closely — past beauty, into something more unsettled. The violet washes came first, wide and breathing; then the ink, which pooled and burst into a scatter of dark matter at the heart of the composition.
I work with fluid ink, liquid acrylic, and gesso on stretched canvas. In Nature N258, the ink behaved with unusual intensity — it fractured into hundreds of fine black particles suspended in the still-wet pigment, creating a density that contrasts with the softness of the surrounding petals. The layering was built slowly, each wash allowed to dry before the next, preserving the translucency of the violet.
Stretched on a solid wooden frame with carefully finished 4 cm (1.5") deep edges — no frame needed. The work arrives ready to hang, signed on the back, with a certificate of authenticity. Packed with maximum protection for safe international shipping.
