Mountain Lake (2023) Original Oil Painting by franco orsi

This 23x30 cm oil on paper artwork, titled "LAGO DI MONTAGNA" (Mountain Lake), showcases a serene yet richly textured alpine landscape defined by bold impasto strokes. The composition captures a cool, shimmering body of water rendered in fluid blues and teals, bordered by snow-covered banks built up with thick palette knife applications of pure white. On the left and along the distant shoreline, dense groves of trees and autumn shrubbery rise in warm, contrasting tones of golden ochre, deep rust, and amber. The physical texture of the paint creates a vibrant sense of light and dimension across the freezing shoreline, all set beneath a calm, pale blue sky that enhances the quiet isolation of the mountain scene.
