Metropolis emerged from my fascination with the energy and impermanence of the modern city. Created through a process of photographic layering and digital montage, the work combines fragments of architecture, movement, light and texture to evoke the experience of being immersed within an ever-changing urban landscape. Rather than documenting a specific place, the image seeks to capture the atmosphere of the contemporary city as a space shaped by memory, movement and human presence.

The blurred figures and fractured skyline suggest the countless stories that pass through a city every day, while the layered surfaces reflect the accumulation of time and experience. What makes Metropolis special is its balance between recognition and abstraction; viewers may see a familiar cityscape at first glance, yet new details and relationships emerge over time. Produced as a giclée print on archival paper, the work invites contemplation of the city not simply as a physical environment, but as a living archive of collective memory and imagination.
