#3 in this ongoing series of paintings of chains, 'Lower Fishguard on a Misty Morning' has that early morning feeling as the last remnants of mist are burnt off by the sun. I was inspired to paint this series by walks around our local harbours all having well worn flagstones and rusty boat chains.
This painting is created from photographs and sketches made at Fishguard lower Harbour where 'Under Milk Wood' was filmed. The untouched location is beautifully captured as is the sense of stillness and calm found here.
Painted in full colour on canvas and framed in a simple black wood surround.
