Artist's description:

This painting was inspired more by a generation and a movement. The person in the painting is Mac Miller, a very popular rap/hip hop artist. To me he is an icon, not for his music but rather for what he stands for and what he represents. He does not follow the usual path that society has outlined. He tends to do what he feels is true. In high school he was never the poplar kid, he was in a class of his own so to say. But once he had success, this all changed. This part of his life is something that I personally like to connect to. To me personally this is the epitome of hard work and sticking to your passion. No matter who brings you down or what obstacles lie in your path.
