Love. Bench Off-Cut (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Show Pony

77 x 24 x 2cm

2 Artist Reviews

£250

My workbenches get splattered and specked with paint and the process, which happens organically, eventually leaves the surface looking so beautiful. So I've been using them to paint lettering into and create these one-off pieces.

For this series of bench off-cuts I laid stencils over freshly painted sheets of wood, and used them as a desk for many months. I've slowly started cutting the benches up and peeling back the stencils to reveal space the lettering, and painting the text with gloss enamel.

Created with a combination of stencil-work and freehand painting
