Lost World (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Ramona Pintea

This one has been a journey. The original abstract canvas held swirls of blues and greens, layered with mixed media that gave it a world-worn texture. When I approached it again, I felt a burst of inspiration to create something new, yet let the old layers shine through. The result is a vase of flowers that, almost magically, resembles a map of the world.

“Lost World” is impressive in its intricacy. Its vibrant blooms emerge from a tapestry of past experiences, reflecting both the chaotic beauty of nature and the preserved marks of the old canvas beneath. This painting is unique, having simmered for 8–10 years before finding its final form. It carries with it not just the brushstrokes of today but also the soul of its earlier self, making it an artwork steeped in time and transformation.
